El Capitan

Hi, this is Sean😄. Today I woke up to a breakfast of pancakes and bacon. We ate it then changed campsites. Dad, Grace, and I rode our bikes to the visitor center and the others took the shuttle. When we got there we looked around then we went to the video about Yosemite history.  Sheep herding was illegal in Yosemite, but people still did it. The Buffalo soldiers found a way to make sure people didn't do it, they would put the sheep on the east side of the park and the elders on the west. When they found each other herding season would be over.
After that we went to the Yosemite graveyard where people who lived and worked in Yosemite were buried. We got back on our bikes and rode to the El Capitan trailhead. We walked to El Capitan which is the largest freestanding granite cliff in the world. Dad drove to pick us up and we went back to the RV. We drove back to the campsite and mom ran back. We had a good dinner of leftovers then went to bed. It was a fun day.

  1. Sean,
A long time ago your Mom and Dad took Grandpa Don and me to Yosemite and we really liked it. It sounds like you do too.

  2. Sean,
Just in case you are out of touch with baseball there in Yosemite the Cubs just swept the Reds. I bet that will bring a smile to your Mom's face. XXOO

  3. Sean - you didn't explain the pictures! Did a beaver cut that tree down? (not the one you are standing in front of! ). And where are the pictures of the largest free standing granite cliff on the world? And why didn't your dad and mom climb up the face of El Capitan? Are they getting too old? Or are they getting wiser?
It looks like you are having pretty good weather out there. Your mom told us it was supposed to rain all week. Enjoy the rest of your school year!
    Love, Grandpa T

  5. Sean, speaking of climbing in Yosemite, ask your parents about friction 5.8s vs regular.

    1. Kevin, What can really give you nightmares is that according to posted signs black bears have been seen climbing 5.8's in the park, not trees but granite.
