Hi, this is Sean. Today I woke up in our hotel room, I was freezing. Luke had taken all the blankets off of me so I was really cold. We went and had breakfast then bought some sunblock. Then we went back to the hotel room so everybody but me could their swimsuits on. (I wasn't allowed to swim until the stitches come out.). Soon we went to the pool. I sat on the edge of the hot tub and read most of the time. Also I kicked a beach ball to the other side of the pool. After some time we were getting hungry so we ordered pizza. We hungrily ate lunch then kept on playing. After a long time at the pool we went outside to wait for mom. When mom came we loaded up into the car. The drive was about an hour. When we got there Luke was asleep and I had a horrible headache. I laid down and read. Then we had a dinner of chicken. Immediately after dinner I went to bed. I got to sleep quickly.
Uncle Kevin when we were in the plane we reached an altitude of 36,000 feet. We calculated that we could see for 168,364.876 miles squared. Also the Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the calculation. I have never thought to establish square miles of visibility.
I am in a hotel in Cozemel Mexico which is a island -- staying on the 11th floor. We can NOT
see across the 27 miles of water to the land from the beech below but can see land from 11th floor. Earth is curved and even though we are not at 36,000 feet -- 120 feet make a difference in how far I can see. I will think about calculating the area I can see with the normal 140 degree view our eyes give us without turning our head but I may need your advice on a formula to make that calculation.
27 miles to the Mexican shoreline from the water's edge on the 11th floor of the hotel.
Do u have any suggestions where I should start.

Sean, sorry you missed the hotel pool but glad your knee is healing. Kicking the ball across the pool was good exercise too. I forget, do you play soccer?
ReplyDeleteI am loving the blog!
Love, AAB
Sean,
ReplyDeleteThat pool sure looked inviting but a clean bill of health for your knee is important. How is that knee doing? Stitches out yet?
Sean, good work. Follow up question. Can you name some other famous suspension bridges near your extended Booher family's homes? You've probably driven over some of the first of that kind in the country.
